And had taken the women that were therein, prisoners, both small and great, and slew not a man, but carried them away, and went their ways.

¶ So David and his men came to the city, and behold, it was burnt with fire, and their [a]wives and their sons, and their daughters were taken prisoners.

Then David and the people that were with him, lift up their voices and wept, until they could weep no more.
